If you've received an airdrop, but can't view it, this guide will help you.

Step 1 would be to ensure that you're connected to the Polygon Mainnet. If your Metamask wallet doesn't have the Polygon Mainnet added in, you can follow this to add it in:

Polygon is a protocol and a framework for building and connecting Ethereum-compatible blockchain networks.

Switch the connected blockchain by clicking on the tab saying Main Ethereum Network, we need to add the Matic network.

Scroll down until you find Custom RPC.

Enter in the Matic Mainnet settings as follows:

1. Log in to your OpenSea profile with your wallet. Make sure you choose the right wallet, and that within your wallet you’re on the right account.

2. Navigate to your profile page on the top right if not already there. On the middle left of the page, select hidden. You will see your private NFTs.

3. Select the three dots on the NFT piece you’d like to unhide. You’re brought to selection mode, where you’re able to select multiple other NFTs to hide if you wish.

4. Confirm by selecting the unhide button on the bottom right.

Voila! your NFTs will now be publicly viewable.

Unhiding your NFTs

If you've received an airdrop, but can't view it, this guide will help you.

Installing Metamask

Step 4: You will see a set of 12 “seed words” for your vault. These words form your Secret Recovery Phrase, making it easier to restore your account.

Step 5: Click “I’ve Copied It Somewhere Safe” once your seed words file has been secured. You’ll be taken into your Metamask wallet!

BitDaemons is an NFT project comprising of a collection of 1576 pixel-art characters, part of a growing number of NFT projects on Fantom, an innovative new platform designed for supporting complex blockchain applications. BitDaemons features an active user community, as well as an opportunity to be part of the DaemonDAO, a DAO ( Decentralised Autonomous Organisation) that will govern the future of the project.

Lore:

BitDaemons come from an ancient civilisation millions of light-years away, where certain members discovered the ability to transmit themselves across the universe. The strongest of them, the Precursors, undertook the slow journey through the deep dark void of space. They were forced to adapt and alter themselves in order to survive, harvesting the technology and power of neighbouring civilisations.

When they arrived on Earth, they infiltrated our digital systems, slowly harnessing the power to create a bridge link that would allow the rest of the Daemons to travel here. Their abilities also meant that the Precursors took on the traits of the digital systems that they were feeding on.

However, the mass transit event was interrupted by an unknown celestial force, resulting in only 1576 BitDaemons arriving on Earth. They are now found on the Fantom Opera blockchain, looking for a new home.

Features:

BitDaemons are divided into five classes, based on their rarity, as well as the method of generation: Grunt, Fallen, Prophet, Overseer and Precursor.

Grunt, Fallen, Prophet and Overseer are generative artworks built from a custom code, which utilises a library of 311 unique features, not counting mirror flipped and colour variations. Out of the vast number of possible combinations, only 1500 artworks are selected to ensure that each NFT is identifiably unique.

The 76 Precursor designs are distinctive hand-made designs, which are either original designs made by the BitDaemon team, or artworks contributed by popular artists and projects on the Fantom community. Half of the money earned from the minting of these NFTs will go to a charity of the person’s choice. The idea behind this is to display and support the art culture on Fantom, as well as to raise money for charitable organisations.

There are 35 hyper detailed backgrounds in the artwork, each of which shows the distinct classes and also offers snapshots of their homeworld. Each of the backgrounds is made from real world photographs, which are then pixelated and colour shaded.

Team:

Three people form the core team behind BitDaemons. LuckyLuciano (@Luciano_NFT)  is the primary character designer, generative programmer (for designing the generative artworks) and is responsible for running the project’s official social media handles. ArcAyn (@ArcAyn_NFT) is the background designer, lore writer and also the marketing producer for the project. MaxFlow O2 (@MaxflowO2) is the project’s technical lead and primary developer of the smart contracts governing the project’s NFTs.

About Fantom:

BitDaemon is based on Fantom Opera, a new blockchain that is quickly becoming a preferred choice for many NFT projects. Unlike older blockchains like Ethereum, Fantom is designed to be a high-performance platform for complex dApps, which often slow down on first-generation platforms.

Fantom uses a high-speed consensus mechanism, known as Lachesis, to tackle the problem of low speeds on blockchain networks. Unlike other scalability solutions, Fantom doesn’t forego security and decentralization in order to increase scalability. Instead, the new platform provides a more efficient for blockchain-based projects, which now do not have to worry about low speeds and transactions costs on traditional blockchain networks.

Future:

The primary objective of the BitDaemon team is to ensure that all the 1576 Daemons have been minted and have found safe refuge, protected from any further attacks. What’s wrong with the current system?

You don't really own any money that you have and are subject to rules and policy changes made by the regulating authorities, thus giving you very less precedence over your money.

Fundamentals of DeFi

1. Decentralization

Perhaps one of the biggest advantages DeFi has over banks is that, well, as the name suggests, it’s decentralized, therefore, no powerful people can change policies to their liking and there are no hidden costs or payments because it's all code, out there for everyone to see. So, instead of having to trust banks, a new trustless network is formed.

2. Stable Coins

Imagine you wanna trade in some cryptocurrency, say bitcoin, well, the centralized way of doing it would be using some exchange and receiving money in the bank. But in the volatile world of trading where you can make it or break it in seconds, taking so much time per transaction is simply not enough, not even counting the cost of every transaction taken by all the parties involved. Here, stablecoins provide a way around a problem by combining the liquidity of a cryptocurrency, to the stability of a fiat currency, hence easing the transaction process while also cutting down on costs.

3. Smart Contracts

These are also basically computer code that get executed when the conditions are met. Now the uses of smart contracts are extensive, from flash loans to margin trading to even insurance, they can be used anywhere and everywhere and ensure that no party is cheated into or out of an agreement. Oracles are used to provide smart contracts with the information about whether the conditions have been met or not and provide an edge over the traditional way as they are free of exploitation and, once a smart contract is issued, the conditions are immutable, that is, they cannot be changed.

4. Decentralized Exchanges

Let's consider a hypothetical situation where we travel to some other country, now, to transact in that country, we require that country’s currency and for that, we require forex exchanges, but what we don't know is that forex exchanges issue very high rates of interest for exchanging our currency. This is where decentralized exchanges come into play, allowing us to exchange most currencies for negligible rates of interest. What’s more, since it’s all code, the rate of interest cannot be changed unlike centralized exchanges where they can be changed to the liking of the authority.

Through all this we can obviously see that DeFi provides some really interesting advantages over CeFi, like lesser costs, a trustless system and lesser regulation but should we really be changing our current ways? That is the question.

Should we be skeptical?

A few days ago, hackers exploited the Wormhole DeFi for an amount on the ups of $320 million, and that is seemingly how the biggest advantage of DeFi platforms are also their biggest disadvantage. Computer code is immutable, but also contains loopholes, which can be easily exploited once found out.
